CUBRD: The Thrifty Kitchen
Interface Design
Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator

Working together in a group, concept and design an app, marketing video, and website landing page.
Cubrd (pronounced cupboard) is a mobile app that was created to avoid food waste, help users save money, and inspire them to give back to their community.
The scope of this group project included creating the interface design for a mobile app, a website landing page, and a marketing video.

The goal was to provide conventional app for users to organize and trick what’s in their pantry, effectively meal plan, donate food, find volunteer opportunities, and build community through food.

Thorough primary and secondary research was done in the ideation process, along with various user tests for maximum efficiency for user experience.
The goal for the brand identity was to position the app in the mind of the user as comforting and hand-crafted. This included creating a brand essence using warm colors related to comfort foods like pizza. The goal was to also give the app a handcrafted feel.

In order to achieve this look hand-drawn illustrations were created, a handwritten font was used, and organically shaped icons were created. Curves and soft edges were also used to achieve a handcrafted brand essence.
The CUBRD app was built on three pillars: saving, serving, and sharing. This was the goal from the beginning, and this was echoed throughout every design choice. These three pillars can be seen though the app interface, landing page, and marketing video.

Save. Serve. Share.
Try out the app!
