Grandeur

Brand & Identity

InDesign, Photoshop

Inspired by the work of Paula Scher on the Public Theatre and We Are Collins on the SF Symphony branding, this idea explored the creation of unique branding identity for an elevated movie theatre. The Grandeur Theatre experience is similar to a night on Broadway or a night at the orchestra.

The objective was to create an elevated movie experience and connect what people love about the atmosphere of the theatre with the nostalgia and comfort of the movies. This is more than just movies and popcorn; it is a whole luxurious experience.

Cinematheques are sources of history. They house film archives, artifacts, and exhibitions. There are only seven cinematheques in the United States. Grandeur creates a whole new cinematheque experience.

The concept was to take visitors on a trip through time. Timeless classics are featured with new themes and displays throughout the year. Guest would enjoy the cinematheque museum, classic films, and a fine dining restaurant experience.

Grandeur is the marriage of historical elegance and cinematic bliss. The interior of this theater was designed to feel like a museum. Opposite to a traditional theatre, the light, airy, and elegant nature of the theatre position the brand as a luxury experience to the guests. The ornamentation was also meant to mimic the detail of a grandfather clock.
